Welcome to Smith Tool and Design, where we have been professionally serving customers since our beginnings in the basement of founder, David Smith's home in 1979.

Smith Tool and Design started as a one-man tool shop and now, three decades later has grown from a small basement shop to a full CNC machining facility, employing up to twenty-five CNC machinists on two shifts.

Our customers remain pleased with our long-standing reputation of high quality and excellent customer service with reasonable pricing.

Smith Tool and Design's high-tech manufacturing facility is located in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains, in historic Talking Rock Georgia. We are conveniently centered between the major manufacturing hubs of Atlanta, Greenville, and Chattanooga. Our competitive advantage begins with ownership of our 15000 square foot manufacturing facility and continues into its technologically advanced equipment.

As an industry leader in contract machining and high-precision manufacturing, Smith Tool and Design is capable of both short and long CNC production runs that require tight production tolerances. While many companies shy away from complex multi-axis machining, we prefer those components and assemblies, utilizing our expert capabilities in CNC multi-axis turning and milling.
